How We Met and Re - Met

11.5.2015

Her Story: We met in middle school, played on the same soccer team, and killed it on the Selzer Sharks basketball squad. Corey would call my house phone to meet up and play basketball together for hours. One day in the tire park, Corey dared me to kiss him ..... AND that was his first kiss! I went to high school first and we drifted a part but was always connected by playing sports and mutual friends. Years later on a Thursday night, I walked into the bar where Corey was with a mutual friend. We started to talk and I knew after a few moments he would be my last kiss. His Story: I met Katharine in middle school when I had to play soccer in 6th grade since I broke my thumb and couldn't play football that year. I remember calling her house phone to meet up and play basketball or watch movies. We have been playing one on one since 2006. I am currently still undefeated. Years later on a Thursday night, Kat walked into Ryan's Pub where I was hanging with my friend Zach. I put an Eazy E song on the jukebox, she put on my Raider's hat, and that was it for me. Raider nation, for life.... literally for life.

How He Proposed

We go to the Russo's beach house every year for our little escape. I had no idea this trip would change my life. We went out to dinner at 4:30 pm (which should have triggered something was up but did not because we are always hungry). We had the best service from a waitress who came to the table and said, "Hi my name is Linda and I will be taking care of you this evening". That was one of the many signs our beloved Linda showed us she was there every step of the process that amazing day. We continued to have a great dinner, enjoying our last night away. I am taking selfies and looking for good lighting on the beach when I turn and see Corey acting funny. I could not tell you what happened during those moments because we both completely blacked out. We both stood there as he said something beautiful, but all I cared about was being able to say 'YES' and call him my husband that very second (but I guess we have to wait a few more years, thanks COVID). The absolute best part was seeing our family running and noticing a hidden photographer crying as much as we all were. This was the beginning of our forever.
