We understand the uncertainty of what the future holds during the Coronavirus outbreak. The health and safety of our friends and family are of the utmost importance to us. As we head into the final week we are still planning to proceed with our wedding. We want to ensure the safety of everyone and comply with CDC guidelines. We are working closely with our venue as we navigate this unprecedented time. There will be hand sanitizer and masks available. The property is outdoors and allows for comfortable social distancing. Seating will be arranged per guidelines. We fully understand if you feel uncomfortable in attending or having to travel. We ask that you notify us if your RSVP changes. We can't wait to celebrate with you all soon! Taylor and I love each one of you and are keeping you and your families in our thoughts and prayers. ❤️
Our story starts at Rochester General Hospital on the Vascular Surgery service. We first met when I was a PA student and he was on the Vascular team. As many people know he loved to first introduce me as "She was my student!" However, I ended up joining the team after graduating from PA school and we became co-workers and friends over the first couple of years. Over time we found that we were similar in many things: interests, habits, personality, etc. Still with our differences, but freakishly alike. I have to laugh because once we started to introduce each other to friends and family the running joke was that we looked like twins. And sometimes I swear we have the telepathic sense that twins have. Honestly, neither of really recall when we made it "official" that we were dating. It has been about 2 years. We were best friends from the start. We enjoyed each other's company and never got bored. It's like that when you fall in love with your best friend. We always make each other laugh and it's one of our favorite parts of this relationship. We share a love for traveling and have had some of the best adventures together. This year we adopted a kitten, Primrose, and she is literally the center of our lives. It has been such an amazing experience growing together and finding new things about each other along the way. We have found "our person". Looking at one another, smiling and saying "I love you" never gets old. :)
After Thanksgiving 2018 we booked a vacation in Cancun, Mexico for March 2019. We have done a lot of traveling together, but this was the first relaxing beach vacation, just the two of us since we have been dating. We traveled to Cancun on March 7th and arrived at Live Aqua Hotel (highly recommend). Our seasonal affective mood from the dreary NY winter was immediately cured as we were greeted with champagne flutes and the beach. Paradise, finally. On the night of March 8th we went out for dinner. Before, we walked along the infinity pools and admired how peaceful the ocean looked at night. At dinner, I noticed that Taylor was acting strange. He kept fidgeting in his seat and he couldn't decipher the English translations of the Spanish menu items. I assumed it was too much sun and the overindulgence of tropical drinks we had all day. After dinner, we walked over to the near cabanas and I wanted to take some pictures of us together. He refused to let me stand on my "good side" and continued to act strange. Slightly exasperated I suggested going to the hotel bar for some drinks. But now he wanted to go sit on the cabanas so I obliged. He looked at me with that big, gorgeous smile he has and told me how I was his best friend and the love of his life. In my head I was thinking "Yes silly, I know this". He squirmed around and withdrew this box from his pocket. Nothing was clicking in my head yet until he got down on one knee, opened the box and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him as his wife. He had a wonderful speech along with it but I honestly cannot remember the exact words as I was speechless myself. If a heart could burst from happiness and love, mine would have. We smiled so much our cheeks hurt by the time we got home! Needless to say it was an amazing trip.
