The falls are in the heart of South Minneapolis. You can eat incredible sea food there (yes, really) at Sea Salt, and then take a stroll through the park along Minnehaha Creek all the way down to where it empties into The Mississippi River!
Indoors: find a world class art museum. Outdoors: see the iconic sculpture garden!
This is a truly extraordinary free museum! If you have the time and are at all interested in... anything!
Lovely museum with a fantastic restaurant in a gorgeous old building!
Practically right next door to our wedding venue, this sprawling garden is a wonder to behold!
An excellent zoo!
One-of-a-kind artist designed minigolf course! It also features a "boardwalk" of vintage entertainments, arcade games, pinball machines, and plenty of junk food and booze and a self-service tap beer system Ryan helped install! Come ready to spend money!!!
If you're in town Friday night before the wedding and looking to have the local experience, check out the Mancini's lounge for strong, cheap drinks, decor from an 80s mafia movie, and surprisingly bad live music. This is the friendliest dive you can find, and the clientele range from college kids to the extremely retired. There just isn't any place like it.
We've never been! The price of admission is steep! We're sure it's neat! RIP Prince.
This is our favorite pub food spot. Great beer selection, and incredible eats. In good weather, their patio is quite inviting.
Slightly (sliiiightly) upscale Italian eats in our old neighborhood. Supernatural donut game on weekend mornings! See also: Mojo Monkey for donuts.
The opposite of upscale! Don't look down your nose, however! This place feels very much like Italian home cooking (not that we would know). Quaint spot. Super wholesome. I recommend ordering The Hot Dago.
3-in-1! Excellent brewery! Excellent pub food! And... bowling!
Put this on the list just for fun. It's the bar and grill down the street from our home. You walk into this place and think, "Oh, this must be where they got the idea for Applebee's." Satisfying, cheap food.
What a name, huh!? If you're looking for east Asian cuisine, this is a very accessible favorite of ours.
Excellent modern English pub food. Ya know... one person wants aged steak. One person wants curry. This place can satisfy'em all!
Always a great beer list, plus an opportunity to try the MSP-famous JUICY LUCY (burger filled with cheese)! AND... yet another bar with a bowling alley. It's cold here, folks. What can we say?
Another great fried food/burger joint!
This area holds a special place in our hearts. It has been hit hard by the pandemic, but it is still hanging in there. Located at the stupendous "Schmidt Beer Castle", Keg and Case features a wide variety of quirky vendors and sit-down eating. The whole spot is worth a self-guided tour. This old building is ground-zero for Saint Paul's growth as a vibrant city (back when it was a major production brewery). It's a gemstone in our old neighborhood and we highly encourage you to go sneaking around there.
Top notch brewery producing a vast collection of craft beer styles - A regular haunt for us crazy kids!
Right behind Bad Weather lies the very cozy and historic Waldmann. This is a special piece of Saint Paul History. The beer can be hit-or-miss, but the food is delightful!
We're going to be honest... the beer can be a little bland. However, their patio is truly something special! Come see a tap system Ryan helped install on a fine day!
Pronounced ARE-BITE-HER. A friend and former co-worker of Ryan's opened this exceptional brewery during the pandemic and it's a great place to drink craft beer!
Last, but not-at-all least... it's the brewery by which Ryan is employed! Their taproom is small, but their beers are mighty. They also have a small patio out back, if you like to commune with nature whilst you drink. Can't recommend this place enough, just based on how great the brewing is!
