It's funny to think back over a year ago. I simply made eye contact with this stunningly beautiful girl, and before ever speaking to her, there is a definite connection between us. I think she caught me checking her out several times that week, and my general impression was that she was way too pretty. For sure, I thought, there must be something wrong with her. After two months of anticipation and texting, our paths crossed once again, and we finally went on a date. In the first five minutes I had a feeling I never had before. Leaving after our dinner I really knew she was it for me. I had to actively resist texting her immediately that I was completely in love with her. Even crazier than it was for my unsentimental self to feel as I did, was the fact that as we continued to hang out, I came to realize she might actually feel the same way. I mean, what are the chances?!

What could be more romantic than meeting on a rainy day at a horse show in October?! Garrett and I had seen each other around during the week, and by the last day I finally built up the courage to go over and talk to him... and the only thing I could come up with was "Is this your horse?"... very clever, I know. We chatted for a few minutes and our conversation ended rather quickly after only exchanging first names. Never one to give up on something I want, I took the liberty of stalking Garrett via horse show start lists to find his last name and then by social media to figure out how I could get to see him again. After a few months of cyber communication, we were finally in the same zip code again and we met for a drink. Garrett says it was "love at first date" and I have to admit I shared the same sentiment. Garrett asked me if I wanted to "keep doing this thing that we are doing for the rest of our lives" at the top of the Nature Preserve tower at sunset on November 21st, 2019. The only answer was obvious: Yes!!!
