We're getting married!

January 8, 2016 Aaron and Katey met up at Four Seasons Bowling in Hillsboro for their first date. They sat in a tiny booth and ate tater tots before Aaron found out just how bad Katey was at bowling and Katey found out the first thing in a very long list of things Aaron was really good at. By the end of the date they both knew they wanted to be together. They spent the next year and two months getting to know each other, exploring pretty places and exciting things. March 2, 2017 Starting off as a very rainy day Aaron picked Katey up after she had gotten out of class to go to Oceanside. Once they got to Tillamook Katey realized she had forgotten her rain jacket so after stopping at the store to buy a rain jacket (which is now her favorite jacket) they headed to the beach. They both bundled up and put on their rubber boots. Unknown to Katey, Aaron had grabbed the ring from the trunk of his car and placed it in his pocket. They passed through the tunnel in the hillside to the other beach and slowly made their way to the other end. Stopping at a rock outcropping in the middle and climbing up to the top Aaron thought about pulling the ring out and doing it there but decided against it because Katey was almost being blown away by the wind. Once they made it to the end of the beach Aaron wrapped his arms around Katey and they stood and watched the waves from a small alcove where they were sheltered from the rain. As it was getting darker Katey tried to pull away to start heading back but Aaron held her tight and told her he wanted to stay a bit longer. A few minutes later he unwrapped his arms came around to face Katey and dropped down to one knee with the ring in hand and said Katey Lynn Averette will you marry me? And of course Katey started crying and said yes. June 30, 2019 Katey and Aaron will be getting married and celebrating with their family and friends in Aurora, Oregon!
