Five and a half years ago, Kate and Josh met at California Baptist University. Her brother, Scott, introduced Josh to her and he thought she was the cutest thing he’d ever seen. Josh had a giant crush on Kate and she pretty much knew that he existed. Josh was nervous to ask out the senior who was voted Ms. CBU (basically CBU’s Homecoming Queen). Because of this, nothing happened between the two. About sixteen months ago, after countless times of seeing Kate at church and wanting to ask her out, Josh built up the courage and decided to pursue her. He started going to the same home group (bible study) as her, he made sure he went out to the same places to see her, and he hung out with her mutual friends. After he felt that there was something more than a simple friendship, he asked her out on a date. The following months could not have gone better. After finding out how long he had pursued her for, Kate praised God for blessing her with a godly man who was confident, knowing what he wanted, and trusted in the Lord so heavily! She could not believe it was her who he wanted. On April 30th, Josh proposed to Kate at Little Corona Del Mar Beach. Kate said yes!... Only after leaving Josh on his knee for thirty seconds while she thanked her photographer for being there... made him a little nervous! Josh and Kate have been looking forward to being married to one another and celebrating with their friends and family. Due to COVID, they will be having a small, intimate backyard wedding instead of the more traditional wedding they had planned. Despite COVID trying its best to stop them, they will be getting married on July 11th, 2020! They are looking forward to officially being Mr. and Mrs. Laker!!
