Hamilton and Katelynn first met their senior year of high school while working at Chick-fil-A. Hamilton had already been there for two years when Katelynn started in the summer of 2022. Even though they worked in the same place, their schedules almost never overlapped, so for a long time they were just two people passing each other during shifts. Everything changed on November 29, 2022, during a late closing night. As the restaurant slowed down, Hamilton asked Katelynn to restock the condiment station while the rest of the team finished cleaning. Trying to make it a little more fun, Katelynn stacked the ketchup packets into a small tower she remembered seeing it at another Chick-fil-A. Hamilton didn’t realize what she was doing and knocked it over. She got frustrated and snapped at him. Later that night, it didn’t sit right with Katelynn. She felt the need to apologize, so she found Hamilton’s number through the scheduling app and sent him a message. What was meant to be a simple apology turned into an easy, natural conversation. Hamilton asked if she planned to attend Harding University and mentioned that he knew her brother, Joseph, who had worked at Chick-fil-A with him before Katelynn started. From that night on, they just kept talking. Looking back now, Hamilton and Katelynn see how intentional it all was. What felt like an ordinary, slightly awkward moment at work became the beginning of something meaningful. They’re grateful for the timing, the small moments, and the way God quietly brought their paths together when they least expected it.
