Although Eddie and Katelynn first met in 2008, their love story didn't truly begin until many years later. Following their high school graduation, Eddie served in the United States Marine Corps, and Katelynn attended Longwood University. During those years, Eddie and Katelynn supported each other's dreams and achievements from afar. In the summer of 2019, both Eddie and Katelynn returned home; Eddie was adjusting to civilian life, and Katelynn was starting her teaching career. They exchanged messages, and soon after, Eddie asked Katelynn to dinner. On the evening of their first date, Eddie and Katelynn talked about their Marine Corps and college adventures and reminisced on moments past. That night, Eddie told Katelynn that he had a "crush" on her from the moment they first met; Katelynn thought he was charming, strong, and incredibly handsome. Sparks quickly flew between the pair. Eddie asked Katelynn to be his girlfriend on October 11th, 2019, at a local high school football game. From 2020 to 2023, Eddie and Katelynn spent every moment together. They met each other's families, decorated classrooms, spent time with friends, watched way too much football, enjoyed many holidays and birthdays together, took trips to the beach, visited Tennessee at Christmas time, moved into their first apartment, and adopted their dog, Roscoe. During this time, they supported each other as Katelynn completed graduate school and Eddie worked hard to become a personal trainer. In 2023, Eddie and Katelynn were engaged and learned they would soon become parents! The journey to parenthood required Eddie and Katelynn to pivot - a sweet baby was on the way! Katelynn decided to leave the classroom and start her own business as a Reading Specialist. Eddie shifted career paths and became a technician for a petroleum company. In 2024, they welcomed their son and biggest blessing to date, Edward Thomas Duff. Over the last two years, Eddie and Katelynn have navigated the depths of parenthood and change. Katelynn built a business that would create flexibility, while also continuing to teach. Eddie works hard to provide and protect, just as he did in the Marine Corps, although now for his own little family. In 2025, Eddie and Katelynn began building their forever home. As they look ahead to their new chapter and reflect on chapters past, Eddie and Katelynn are grateful for the love and support of their closest friends and family. They see God's hand in every moment, milestone, and opportunity. They will always believe and trust in the Lord's precious timing; their journey is a testimony of just that. Eddie and Katelynn describe their love as steadfast, kind, and true. The chapters of their love story are unique, each one teaching them the importance of partnership, sacrifice, and faith. On October 11th, 2026, after exactly seven years together, Eddie and Katelynn will say, "I Do!" They pray it's the best chapter yet.
