How We Met

Katelynn and Alex met on the infamous dating website; Tinder! They talked back and forth for several weeks before going on their first date to Applebees. After a few months of more restaurant dates and sleepovers, Alex asked Katelynn to move in with him. From there, Alex and Katelynn's bond continued to grow and eventually led to Alex popping the question in front of all of their closest friends and family.

The Proposal

During the summer of 21' Alex secretly began devising a plan to propose to Katelynn. His plan was to keep it simple yet he wanted to do something that meant a lot to Katelynn and her family. Alex already had a plan in mind but his idea took months of behind-the-scenes conversations with both Katelynn and Alex's friends and families to work out all the kinks. These conversations became extremely difficult to keep from Katelynn as the more people that knew the plan, the more a chance there was for someone to slip up. As they neared the proposal date Alex began step one of the process- convince Katelynn he wanted to take her out for a nice dinner to one of their favorite restaurants for their two-year anniversary. Katelynn was excited to celebrate their anniversary but little did she know they would not exactly be heading out for a typical anniversary dinner. On the day of the proposal, Alex and Katelynn set out to "celebrate their anniversary." On the way there, step two of Alex's plan began. Katelynn would first receive a phone call from her mother. Katelynn's mother instructed the couple to meet with Katelynn's sister for a quick anniversary surprise set up by her mom and dad. After meeting with Katelynn's sister; the couple was blindfolded and she began driving them all over Plymouth while Katelynn had no idea where they were going. Meanwhile, while the couple continued their blindfolded travels around rural Marshall County, both of Alex and Katelynn's close friends and family began gathering around the Rees Theatre in downtown Plymouth. As 5:00 p.m. neared Katelynn's sister finally dropped the couple off at the theatre. Katelynn was escorted to the front of the theatre and when the hour hit the blindfold was removed and Alex was on one knee in front of the theatre sign which read "Katelynn Culp- Will you marry me?" Katelynn took a second to soak in the number of friends and family that surrounded the couple until she answered the question with a "Yes!". This answer was followed by tons of photographs and a nice after party set up by Alex and Katelynn's family.
