Finally doing the damn thing!!

Katelyn and Kyle met online through Hinge in July of 2022 while Katelyn was working as an OR nurse and Kyle was selling cars. As Katelyn likes to point out, she was the one who asked, "Are you ever going to ask me out?" to which Kyle replies with, the only reason it was taking so long was because they worked almost opposite schedules, she was 6-4 and he was 12-8 so they didn't get a lot of time to talk. They finally went out and had their first date playing pool and having a few drinks at Sidepockets. From then on, there was no looking back. Attending weddings together, Kyle's first K-State football game, Chiefs games, family holidays, and eventually officially moving in together in March of 2023. Then, Kyle finally experienced one of Katelyn's seizures and handled it like he had been trained for it. Kyle showed Katelyn what lake like was really about at Table Rock Lake and they grew their little family from the two of them plus Bindi (Katelyn's Mini Aussie) and added Nala their Aussie Doodle / Crackhead. In September 2025, after spending a week in New York and New Jersey for Katelyn's cousin Miles's wedding to Dr. Nancy and a little vacation with Katelyn's parents, they returned home and Kyle asked Katelyn to finally marry him while at their home. Of course she said yes. Katelyn's only requests for the wedding were a dress and a taco bar, both of which she will get. The rest was planned by Kyle in just a few weeks after a whirlwind of a September. And finally, one day when Katelyn had the day off, Kyle came home from work to Katelyn waiting with some candies, a LEGO AT-AT set, and after not noticing it at first, a positive pregnancy test! Their little nugget is due in early December, just in time for Christmas! And no, they won't be finding out the gender or telling anyone the names until it arrives because it's some of the few real surprises they get to have!
