Depending on who you ask, the several days leading up to June 18th went very differently. Katelyn's week was very care-free and fun-filled, while Trey's was very stressed and nerve-racking. Before heading to Savannah, Georgia to see a Brooks & Dunn Concert, Katelyn was conveniently pampered; hair done, nails done, and outfits selected. Trey, however, was nervously packing and preparing for the greatest moment of his life thus far. With the ring hidden in a pocket of Trey's suitcase, the countdown to proposal began. The concert was fantastic and Savannah was gorgeous. Katelyn enjoyed the songs and the sights, while Trey rehearsed his lines for "the moment." The plan was to enjoy a long weekend in Savannah then return home, stopping in Athens to have dinner with both of their families with a quick stop by the Arch for a selfie. Or at least that's what Trey told Katelyn the plan was... Arriving back in Athens, against Katelyn's urgings to park closer to the restaurant, Trey insisted they were early and wanted to walk through the Arch. Well walk may not be the right word, more like run! Trey was so nervous, he was practically dragging Katelyn through UGA's North Campus. With the ring in his back pocket Trey and Katelyn took a selfie, their last selfie as a dating couple. This was also the cue for the photographer, who was "disguised" as a student, to start taking pictures because the proposal was coming! Remember those words Trey was rehearsing? Yeah, well he totally forgot those. All he could get out was how much he loves her and how he would always love her. Then his knee hit the ground! "Will you marry me?!" "Yes!" As Trey put the ring on Katelyn's finger, their families came out of their hiding spot across the street from the Arch. Trey arranged for them to see the whole thing and be there for the moment. These words don't do the moment justice, you'll have to ask to see the pictures. But that's how he asked and she said yes! "True love stories never have endings."
