We were in the dining hall pizza line on the second day of college when there were only 3 slices of pizza left. Tommy stepped up just as Katelyn was grabbing her second piece and jokingly asked her to "leave some for the rest of us". While she wasn't going to give up all of it, she offered to split half of her second slice. They sat down at a table with some of the folks they had come down to the dining hall with and chatted a bit. At the end of dinner, Katelyn invited Tommy to join her and a few friends to explore the North End with them that night. He agreed, they exchanged numbers, and Katelyn texted him what the plans were. As fate would have it, that message did not go through until the next morning leaving both feeling as though they were stood up. The technical difficulty was overcome and they later hung out with some other folks in the dorm. They took the next month to get to know one another and started dating on October 15, 2015.
