Tim and Kate both transferred to Temple their Sophomore year, but it wasn't until they switched majors that they bumped into one another. Kicking off their Spring 2011 semester, both Tim and Kate were enrolled in a Sports Finance course. After a few classes, Tim made the assumption that the girl in front of him had 'ridiculous' taste in sports since she wore a gold Yankees watch daily. And just his luck, that girl was placed in his group for the course's first group project. Little did he know, that girl with 'ridiculous' sports taste would soon become his best friend and seven years later his fiance.
In 2016, the couple decided they would try to visit New York City every year while they were home for the holidays; mainly because Tim knows how much Kate loves and misses the infamous Big Apple. As their 2017 winter break approached, Tim got the two tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra since Kate had never heard of or seen them before. After enjoying the show, the two headed back into Manhattan for a calm night on the town (or so Kate thought). The two grabbed a filling dinner at McGettigans, despite Kate being adamant about the perfect meal at Shake Shack...because who doesn't love Shake Shack. Next stop to make was Bryant Park, but first a coffee pit stop was necessary. The two got some hot coffee (because after all it was in the 20s!) and then chatted while people watching. After some laughs and guessing where people were from, Tim asked to take some pictures by a lit christmas tree. Little did Kate know that those typical selfies they usually take would soon turn into a moment she would never forget. After a few cute photos and as they began walking over to ice skate, Tim stopped, got down on one knee (for longer than he imagined), and asked Kate to not only be his best friend forever but his wife. After Kate screamed and asked 'Is this really happening?!' multiple times, she said YES! Fortunate enough, some super kind people captured the action which will now be one of the two's favorite photos for a lifetime to come.
