Katelyn & Samuel were both living on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and working for the same company in 2016! But it wouldn't be until November of 2018 when Katie and Sammy's love story would begin! Sam was informed by Drew Dezen that Maddy's single friend Katelyn would be at the wedding, so he seized the opportunity to message her leading up to their wedding in New Orleans. Katelyn was living in Miami, FL and Sam was living back in Greenville, SC so they weren't sure what would come of their interest in each other. After Sam was patient, persistent, and a true gentleman with Katelyn, she realized he was one of a kind :) They continued their long distance relationship with trips back and forth from Miami to Greenville until they decided to give things a real shot and Katelyn moved to Sam's hometown! Katelyn packed up her black convertible and headed to South Carolina. After a year of apartment life, Sam and Katelyn decided to purchase and renovate their first home together. With this home, came their pride and joy, Strike the rescue cat! Once they got through home renovations together, Sam and Katelyn knew they could take on anything! Sam planned a trip to their favorite spot, Rincon, Puerto Rico in January of 2021. He had spoken with Katelyn's mom, Carrie and her Uncle Jim & Aunt Pam, along with his parents Sam and Jeri to tell them his plan to propose. After some detective work with Katelyn's best friend, Nick, Sam picked out Katelyn's dream ring and brought it to their favorite beach town! Sam thought about proposing the first night there but the sunset wasn't perfect enough! So Sam checked the forecast and night two was going to be THE night!! They walked on the beach and watched the most perfect sunset. Sam asked a stranger to "take their picture" and he got down on one knee to ask Katie to be his wife. They cannot wait to celebrate with all of their friends in family in the city where they fell in love!
