FAQs

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. Antigua is ~1 hour scenic drive from the airport.

Question

How do I get from the airport to Antigua?

Answer

We are coordinating with a shuttle service company to help you safely and easily book your transportation from the airport to your accommodations in Antigua. See the "Travel" section for more details. Uber is also available and safe to use.

Question

Where do I stay?

Answer

Please see the "Travel" section for room blocks that we've negotiated at several hotels that are close to the wedding and convenient to get around. There are also many options available on Airbnb and VRBO. We recommend you reserve a place close to the Central Park or our wedding venues.

Question

Is Guatemala Safe?

Answer

Yes! Antigua is the safest city in Guatemala, and we feel very comfortable hosting our family and friends there. Tourism is Antigua's main economic driver, and there is a great commitment from the government and police to maintain high security standards due to the many tourists that visit annually. Just as you would when visiting any country, we recommend taking basic precautions and staying aware of your surroundings. We know you will love Guatemala as much as we do.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, a valid passport is required to enter Guatemala. Please double check your passport will not be expired. You do not need a visa to enter Guatemala.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

For the welcome party: All White Attire Women: dresses, jumpsuits, etc. Men: button-downs, linen or khaki pants, etc. For the wedding: Semi-Formal Women: Cocktail dresses, midi dresses, or dressy separates. Men: Suits, sports coats, dress pants (ties optional). Please note: It gets chilly at night after the sun goes down. Consider bringing a light jacket for night events, as they are outside. Also, keep in mind the cobblestone streets—choose shoes that are both stylish and practical.

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

Antigua has beautiful spring-like weather year-round. During the day, temperatures typically range from the mid-70s to low 80s, with plenty of sunshine. In the evenings, it cools down to the 50s or 60s, so we suggest bringing a light jacket for nighttime events. Rain is unlikely during this season, but it’s always good to double-check the forecast before you pack!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we are limiting kids at wedding events to family only.
