Joey and Katie met when Katie started working at Bachman's Floral, Home, and Garden store. Joey was working as the stock supervisor and Katie had been hired on as a horticulturist. Joey knew right away that Katie was special and found any excuse possible to ask dumb questions to the "cute girl at the hort desk." Katie just thought that he was a super welcoming new coworker! Thus, began a beautiful friendship. After a tough day for Katie, Joey found out her favorite flowers and got the florist to create a gorgeous arrangement of sunflowers just to cheer her up. Eventually, Joey worked up the courage to ask Katie to go on a hiking date at Lebanon Hills. Soon after this date, they'd decide to begin their relationship on October 4th, 2020. Since then, they have grown in their love and added many o' houseplants and two tortoises to their home. On August 13, 2024, Joey arranged for a date for the two of them at a sunflower field. Little did Katie know, Joey had arranged with the owners of the sunflower field and Katie's sister, Maddie, to propose. Joey was certain that Katie had no idea while Katie knew something was up and even managed to see Maddie and her husband Corey hiding in the field ready to take pictures right before Joey popped the question! Even it wasn't a complete surprise, it was perfect. They had a full photoshoot in the sunflower field and celebrated their engagement with Maddie and Corey. Joey and Katie are elated to celebrate their love with all of their nearest and dearest this September!
