Addie was James' Professional Writing professor and very quickly became one of the most influential people to James' college career. Offering advice of both the professional and personal variety, she and James would talk about life (primarily Katie and the relationship) and once James graduated, these turned into hangouts at Addies house with her husband, Nick, and their two kids (both adorable).
Matt Montoya
Best Man
Matt and James grew up together since they were born and he is the closest thing that James had to a brother growing up. They were inseparable every Sunday at church and their bond only strengthened through music (both learned to play guitar, drums, and bass among others). Matt has always encouraged James to find his Lebenslanger Schicksalschatz which the closest translation from German to English is "lifelong treasure of destiny". When he called Matt and told him that he was proposing to Katie, his first response was “So you finally found your Lebenslanger Schicksalschatz.”
Josh Miller
Groomsman
Josh was the inspiration for James running for Senator at Whitworth. He and James met James’ freshman year. He introduced himself on the first day of college and they have been close friends ever since. An avid frolfer and encourager of pranking Baldwin-Jenkins on Whitworth’s campus, he became a mentor for James throughout his college career.
Casey Sweet

Casey and James met freshman year and would work out every single day except for Sundays and cook epic breakfast Saturday morning. Since that year, they have been inseparable growing closer and eventually sharing a room together in their house senior year and their first year as adults in the real world. As a child, Casey was attacked by an alligator and has the scars on his fingers to prove it. Ask him about it at the wedding.
Spencer Thornhill
Groomsman
Spencer and James met James’ sophomore year and started playing guitar together. During James’ senior year, they lived together and Spencer quickly became the unofficial bartender of the house and starting creating drinks for all of us to try since he had to do it for his job as well. He is one of James’ most supportive friends and is always down for late night talks about buying jeans and the struggles of being a broke college student.
Anthony Bithell

Anthony and James didn’t really know each other until they moved in together at the house that has been referenced in the past two bios. Very quickly, Anthony became known as the life of the party in James’ eyes and the type of person who would continue a joke with you with no coordination beforehand and have it come off seamlessly. He is a necessity for a great night in college and a phenomenal clarinet player.
Chris Winters

Chris and James met freshman year and found out they both had Ulcerative Colitis and bonded over UC stories. During their college years, they ended up making a list of people they knew and what drink they would be based off of their personalities. The kind of ideas and actions that only come when you’re up at 1am on a school night. He currently works in a lab doing very scientific things.
Mikayla Parent

Katie and Mikayla met at auditions for their dance team in high school. They’ve been best friends ever since! Often inseperable, they were sometimes mistaken for sisters - unsurprising because they are close enough to be just that! Friends til the end of the line 😊
Nikki Rose

Nikki is Katie’s beloved baby sister. She attends Idaho State studying business management and is ROCKING every step of the way. Katie feels so lucky to have grown up with a sister as amazing as Nikki.
Amariah Adams

Katie and Amariah bonded within two minutes of meeting each other because of their mutual interest in being leaders! Amariah is a dedicated and talented computer scientist and is a great friend to have around!
Sophie Lizberg

Katie and Sophie lived two doors down from each other in Sophie’s first year of college. Katie’s first memories of Sophie are her taking initiative and being a speak-out gal...which has continued to today! Sophie is Katie's concert buddy; together they have seen Hozier, Lawrence, Lecrae, and the Jonas Brothers! Ask Sophie about the many concerts she has enjoyed in her life!
Hannah Maxson

Katie and Hannah met in gen bio freshman year, and have been good friends ever since! They loved bonding over complaints of the troubles of being science majors at university. Hannah rocks the boat with her great jokes! Have her show you pictures of her turtle in costume 😊
Emily Clemons

Katie and Emily were senators for their ASWU organization sophomore year. They both continued to work for ASWU for the rest of their college career! Emily is now a balloon art creator and event planner with the Pop Balloon Bar in downtown Spokane and is killing it! Ask her about the summer she got hit by 3 cars within a short period of time.
