The One Where They Get Married

After nine incredible years together, Jake decided to surprise me with the proposal of my dreams. It all went down two years ago, during a trip to Savannah, Georgia. We were there to celebrate my MBA and my birthday, but Jake had another surprise up his sleeve. I had always said that if I were to be proposed to, it had to be by a lighthouse or on a beach near one — it’s just always been a dream of mine. Well, Jake made it happen. On my birthday, after a fun day exploring Tybee Island, we were walking along the beach at sunset, the lighthouse in view, when Jake got down on one knee. Without thinking, I was so excited that I grabbed the ring out of his hand before he could even finish! I looked at him and said, “Wait, are you sure you want to marry me?” We both started laughing, and then he officially asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! The funny thing was, no one around us noticed! So, we decided to take the celebration back to Savannah, where we went out for dinner at a cozy Italian restaurant. When we told them we had just gotten engaged, they were so sweet, and a couple from Littleton, Colorado overheard and sent us a bottle of wine to toast our engagement. We ended up at the Olde Pink House speakeasy, a legendary spot in town, where we walked in just as the piano player started playing "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin. The whole vibe of the place made it feel like we were in a movie. We sipped on cocktails, took in the magic of the moment. It was an unforgettable day, and now we can’t wait for the wedding and all the celebrations to come!
