It all started as a joke, dating apps being so weird and untraditional. Don't expect a highschool sweetheart or eyes meeting from across the room kind of story, because you won't find that here. We matched on the infamous app of bumble. Until recently, I did not know that Katelyn ran a background check on me before even going on the first date, weird right? I guess I can understand that since I was a total stranger. The date started before I could even see her because I was not aware that the person in front of me who didn't put their turning signal on to pull into the theater was going to be my date and future wife. After we both parked she nervously waved at me, so I waved back. To this day we do this every time we don't drive together and park next to each other. The night of our first date, we went to the movies and watched a movie called MA. To me, the movie seemed not too scary but I was unaware that " scary movies" for Katelyn are any kind of movies that includes any suspense or too dark of a filter. Of course, the original movie we had planned on seeing was sold out, so we had time to kill. We then drove to Starbucks together and talked so much that we almost missed the movie. She was so shy, I know this now because she denied Chick-fil-a as we waited. She's made up for it since you should ask her how it's going today. That night after the movie as we walked to our separate cars, my hands were sweaty, I was nervous because I just sat through a not-so-scary movie with who I believed was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I was bold enough to lean in for what was our first kiss as the high school girls parked next to us giggled. That night I knew there was something different about Katelyn and something so special about her. Since that first date, I've had the honor to grow together with Katelyn. We are excited to spend the best day of our life together with friends and family.
