FAQs

The Wedding Website of Katelyn Jarrell and Andrew Hakola
With any wedding comes questions, but especially with an elopement! Hopefully this page can clear up any questions you may have.
Question

Why did we choose to keep it small?

Answer

We wanted a day that felt personal, relaxed, and true to us. Having a small group allows us to be fully present with each other, and all of you.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

You can click on the RSVP tab above at any time and search your name to find your RSVP.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by July 1, 2026, after you have received your formal invitation. This means we have received your response on this website by this date, texting Katelyn or Drew will not count as an RSVP and you will be marked as not attending.

Question

What happens if I RSVP late or do not RSVP?

Answer

If we do not receive a response from you by July 1, 2026 you will be marked as "Not Attending", this means there will not be food, drink, or seating accommodations for you at our wedding.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Unfortunately, we can only accommodate those that are formally invited. Your invitation will be addressed as [Your Name] + [Guest] if a plus one has been given to you.

Question

What do I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be dearly missed! If you cannot attend please just RSVP "Unable to Attend". If you have already RSVP'd that you will be attending and find out afterwards that you cannot make it, please reach out to Katelyn as soon as possible and let her know!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Yes! We know you are already traveling so far to get to our wedding and the last thing we want you to have to worry about is finding someone to watch your children, so if you feel like they are up to it please bring them along! **Our venue is right on the river so please do be mindful of that and keep a close eye on all children present**

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Garden party chic! Flowy, breathable fabrics and comfortable shoes, the wedding will be taking place outside, so just keep that in mind.

Question

What else is there to do while we are there?

Answer

I have listed several things under the "Things To Do" tab!! We don't expect you to spend your whole trip just hanging out with us, so feel free to explore Maine while you're there!

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

First of all, don't feel like you have to get us anything, you being there is all we need! If you would like to get us something anyway, we have created a registry that is linked at the top of this page. We do ask that you don't bring any gifts to the wedding itself, we have to travel back with everything! So if you attend a shower, or just have something mailed directly to us that would be ideal!

Question

What actually is "garden party" attire?

Answer

Garden party attire is whimsical, dressy, and designed to be worn outdoors. It typically falls somewhere between a semi-formal dress code and cocktail attire, with breezy silhouettes and pastel colors. If you need some examples check out this Pinterest board: https://pin.it/2EKnn5cIC
