Venue

Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is a hidden gem in the hills of Carlsbad, where California history and natural beauty meet. Built in 1869 by the Kelly family, it was later purchased by actor and conservationist Leo Carrillo in the 1930s. He transformed it into Rancho de los Quiotes, or “Ranch of the Spanish Daggers,” named after the native yucca plants. Carrillo added Spanish Colonial Revival buildings like a hacienda, chapel, and stables. Today, it’s designated as a California Historical Landmark, filled with rich history and character.
When choosing our venue, we knew we wanted a place that reflected both of us, outdoors, full of character, and rich in history. We also hoped to include cactus, a meaningful part of our lives, especially Dillon’s. After a long search, nothing felt quite right, until we toured Leo Carrillo Ranch. With its natural beauty, adobe architecture, and desert charm, it felt like us. We can’t wait to share this special place with you.
