Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be held in the scenic mountains of Walden, Colorado at The Wapiti Retreat. Walden is located approximately three hours west of Fort Collin, Colorado. We will be holding the ceremony outside on the lodge’s property.

How do we get to the lodge?

Answer

Please use our directions as your GPS or travel sites may direct you to take roads that are not maintained. FROM WALDEN: .5 miles out of town head west, turn right on 12 West. Take 12 West approximately 5 miles to a long hill. At the bottom of the hill stat straight. This puts you on County Road 18. Continue to where the pavement ends for County Road 18 the Y and go left. You will immediately pass the Manville State Lease for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. At this point you are 7 miles away. You will come to a row of mailboxes, continue right approximately a mile to our 22 West sign. Our head quarters is just past the sign. FROM STEAMBOAT: take Highway 40 over Rabbit Ears to Highway 14 towards Walden. Approximately 10 miles from Walden take County Road 9 to County Road 18, turn left and go to where the pavement ends for County Road 18 at the Y and go left. You will immediately pass the Manville State Lease for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. At this point you are 7 miles away. You will come to a row of mailboxes, continue right approximately a mile to our 22 West Sign. Our head quarters is just past the sign.

What time will the ceremony be held?

We plan to hold the ceremony at 2pm on October 2nd. This is all dependent on the weather. Guests will be updated asap if there is a change in plans.

What about lodging accommodations?

Answer

The lodge accommodates 16 guests which will be close family along with the bride and groom. Those staying in the lodge have already been notified. All other guests will need to make their own accommodations. We recommend making those accommodations early as the town of Walden is small and options are limited. The lodge is 30 minutes outside of Walden, Colorado. Steamboat Springs, Colorado is approximately one hour from the lodge and offers more options for accommodations as well. All who are invited are welcome at the lodge at any time during our stay!

How long is the lodge booked?

We will check-in to the lodge at 3:00pm on October 1st and will check out on October 3rd by noon! Please do not arrive at the lodge until after 4:00pm on October 1st as we will need to get checked in with the host and set up a few things!

What food and drinks will be provided?

Answer

We will have sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, chips, and cookies following the ceremony. We will have a variety of drinks including soda, juices, alcohol, and water. Feel free to bring your own food or beverages!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal attire requested! Please dress accordingly and prepare for the (sometimes unpredictable) Colorado weather!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation. We hope you understand our decision.
