The Wedding Website of Katelin Rose Kammerer and Jacob Daniel Thames
There are so many different ways to travel to Martha's Vineyard, SO... I'm going to detail out some of the different options for you all. Martha's Vineyard is an island, just FYI, so things can get a little tricky. Also, Martha's Vineyard in September is extremely busy, so I HIGHLY recommend booking accommodations ASAP. *For flights, I recommend downloading the App "Hopper". You're able to plug dates and destination, and Hopper will notify you when prices are cheapest (Can book 10 months prior.) Option 1: Fly into Martha's Vineyard (MVY) airport. Option 2: Fly into Boston. Option 3: For those of you that like a road trip, you can drive! The trip takes about 15-20 hours from Charleston, depending on traffic. You'll drive to Wood's Hole in Falmouth, MA, and EITHER take the Steamship Authority ferry over to Martha's Vineyard (Steamship Authority details listed in Option 2.) or there is parking in Wood's Hole that you can pay by day.

Flight

Martha's Vineyard

Option 1: Fly into Martha's Vineyard (MVY) airport. (Average price from Charleston is $350 round-trip.)

Flight

Boston, MA

Option 2: Fly into Boston (JetBlue flys direct for about $150 round-trip). From the airport, you can either take Peter Pan bus line to the Steamship Authority in Woods Hole (bus tickets generally run $70 round-trip) OR rent a car to Woods Hole (2 hour drive). From Woods Hole, you'll board the Steamship Authority ferry, which will take you over to Martha's Vineyard (a 45 min ride). Keep in mind that passenger tickets are $8.50 a person and can be purchased day of, but car reservations on the ferry need to be reserved WELL IN ADVANCE & run about $150 RT. Last option from Boston would be to take a shuttle (about $15) from Boston to New Bedford, MA and take the SeaStreak ferry to Martha's Vineyard ($70-$90) www.peterpanbus.com www.steamshipauthority.com www.seastreak.com

House Or Rental

AirBnB or VRBO/HomeAway on Martha's Vineyard

I highly recommend this option. There are tons of affordable places to stay on these sites! The only caveat is to MAKE SURE the house/rental is on Martha's Vineyard, and not off island, as the last ferry to get back to the mainland is around 9 PM. Towns to stay in on the Vineyard are as follows: Edgartown, Katama, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven/Tisbury, and West Tisbury. There are a few other towns on the Vineyard but the ones I have listed are within 15-20 minutes of the wedding festivities.

Martha's Vineyard Family Campground

Rental Car

Transportation While On Martha's Vineyard

There are a few options for transportation during your stay on Martha's Vineyard. Renting cars from rental companies can get pricy, so Uber and Turo are the best options here. Option 1: Rent a car, on the island, OR off the island and ferry it over on the Steamship Authority ($150, and prior reservations for ferrying automobiles must be made.) Option 2: Turo. It's like AirBnB for cars, rentals usually cost about $30-$100 a day. Option 3: Uber/ Lyft is plentiful on the island. Option 4. Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority is the public bus system on the island. We will have a shuttle set up for the evening of the wedding to and from town centers!

Rental Car

Turo

Turn is an app. It is like AirBnB, but for cars. It's very affordable and the best option if you are looking to rent a vehicle while on the island.

For all the days along the way
