The couple were sealed in the Provo City Center, Utah Temple at noonday on Saturday, March 27th. Due to COVID-19 accommodations, the couple and their 16 guests were the only ones in the entire Temple at the time of their sealing. Afterwards, all family members and close friends joined them to take photos at the temple. The wedding party were blessed with clear blue skies and warm weather. Their reception was held in Pleasant Grove at The Bungalow later that afternoon. Guests showed up to greet the couple, and once everyone was seated the party started as the new husband and wife entered the room. Everyone enjoyed a catered waffle breakfast and frosted cupcakes. Katee and her father, Edgardo, shared a sweet Father/Daughter dance, followed by Justin and his mother, Rebecca, as they performed an incredible dance number which everyone loved. Justin and Katee then shared their First Dance and then were joined by all other guests on the outside dance floor for the dance party/ bouquet toss/ and garter toss to begin! It was a magical day, and according to Justin and Katee, "The best wedding reception we have ever been too!". The newlyweds are incredible grateful and would like to thank everyone who made their day special, and all family and friends who have supported them on their new journey.
Justin's side: I was driving home with my friend Riley from playing tennis on a summer evening. As I drove, a song called Hot Shower by Chance the Rapper came on. Because we both love the song, we rolled down the windows, blasted the music at full volume, and rapped and danced. We reached a stoplight on Center St, and while waiting for it to turn green looked to our right. Sitting on a bench on the side of the road were two girls that could hear the music. We could see that they were dancing and rapping too. After a few seconds of pointing back and forth at each other the light turned green. One of the girls yelled out, "We want your number!" My friend responded by yelling out his Instagram tag as we drove away. Katee followed him. Later that night I asked Riley if I could have her Instagram too and message her. He said go for it! I followed her, messaged her, and the rest is history. Katee's side: My old friend was visiting, so I went down to Provo to see her after 5 years. We got Swig and talked as we sat outside of the Provo City Center Temple. We were in the middle of a conversation when I heard "Hot Shower" by Chance the Rapper blasting from a car near us stopped at the light. Thankfully, I know all of the words, the guys in the car noticed and turned up the volume even higher. The inside of the car was dark so I didn't see who was driving. My friend, Lauren, shouted across to the boys in the car and asked for their phone numbers; despite my objections haha. The guy in the passenger seat yelled out his instagram handle instead, then the light turned green. We found Riley on Instagram then she reached over and tapped the follow button because I wouldn't haha. To be honest I was planning on unfollowing Riley later just because I didn't know him at all (no offense Riley). But then some CUTE BOY messaged me, saying "Hey that was fun! Thanks for jammin' with us". I liked that it wasn't a weird pickup line, so I messaged him back...and now we're getting married!
We met in August 2020 and have decided to get married this March! Justin has an internship over the summer in California. We could not stand to be apart from each other for so long, so we decided we would get married before our finals, finish out the school year, and head to California together.
