Wild young kids in the same trade school in 2007. Both a bit hard-headed, to say the least. Not sure it was love at first sight but something budded that spring that would take them years to figure out. A short-lived romance and a little heart-break before Bob left to join Army. They stayed in communication through Facebook as friends. They got to go out for one night of dive bars and pool games in 2011. Bob confessed his true love for the first time that night. Anyone who knows Bob knows he's quite a joker even when he is being serious. As much as Katie wanted to believe or even entertain the thought, with his military career and joking manner she laughed it off, moving on to other topics quickly. With a few beers, stories from the past, and so much laughter, they crashed on the floor of her apartment. When morning came, it was time for them to go their separate ways yet again. Eventually, he was out of the Army and she, working in the same trade learned years prior. They began a Facebook conversation with a "poke" in 2014. Katie, getting ready to move back home to the Spokane area, asked if he had ever gone back to his hometown in Waverly, WA. That is when they realized they had been living 50 miles apart for many years. Bob asked Katie to see him before moving and she agreed. One Widder's Ball later and they both knew how they felt. She moved back to Spokane shortly after that night and he would visit her EVERY WEEKEND for the next 6+ months from Auburn, WA. When a transfer was available he moved to be with her. They lived in her little apartment on the North side of Spokane for a few months before they decided to upgrade. In looking for a rental home, it became apparent that they planned to share their lives together and Bob purchased their very first home. They live there now, with full intention of filling it with the pitter patter of baby feets and all the laughter they continue to share after all their years apart and together.
