The story of Kate and Zach has stretched for more than a decade. Both were students in Florida State’s meteorology program, their paths were always bound to cross. Though Kate may not recognize it as the official first meeting, Zach will claim they first met in Climatology class. Sitting behind Kate for the entire semester, he first spoke to her as they compared answers to a quiz that every student in the class seemed to fail - thankfully the class managed to pass the quiz upon review, and Zach managed to talk to the cute girl ahead of him. Over that first year of school, Kate and Zach built their friendship, hanging out often at her off-campus house watching MTV's Teen Wolf. By semester's end, they attended one last Florida State baseball game, which would send the two into new territory. From the first inning to the last, they spent the entire game asking one key question - what happens if we date? Upon deciding they should date, Jameis Winston hit a walk-off home run and an older gentleman sitting in front of the two turned around, handed Zach a mint, and said “You’ll probably need this for later”. He was likely thrilled after dealing with the back and forth of the two for an entire baseball game. After graduation, Zach and Kate both took jobs that took them across the country from one another. Kate as the evening meteorologist in Minot, North Dakota, and Zach as the weekend meteorologist in El Paso, Texas. Though distance caused the couple to break up, they remained friends for years and managed to visit each other frequently. During the pandemic, Kate managed to move back home to New Port Richey and Zach moved to West Palm Beach. That proximity allowed the two to visit one another more often, including plenty of Disney trips. Kate and Zach got back together in the Spring of 2023. The couple has had a long history and story, but they always found their way back to one another. Now living in Orlando, Kate and Zach are thrilled for the future as they begin a life together.
