The Beach

The Beach

Kiawah Island boasts 10 miles of pristine beach and is comprised of two areas commonly referred to as East Beach and West Beach. Behind the Kiawah Island gate, many private beach accesses are available to hotel guests and renters! Beachwalker County Park is the only public beach access on the island and is located on the west end (West Beach) of Kiawah Island. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be reserved through Kiawah Island's beach services by calling (843) 768-6001. If you are a future guest of The Sanctuary, beach services are complimentary with your stay and do not need to be reserved.

Golf & Tennis

Golf & Tennis

There are five public golf courses on Kiawah Island including the Ocean Course, which hosted the 2021 PGA Championship. Kiawah Island Resort guests receive a discount. We recommend booking tee times in advance. Tennis and pickleball courts are available at the Roy Barth Tennis Center. You can reserve a court time by calling 843-768-2838. Court fees are $44 per hour for guests renting accommodations through Kiawah Island Golf Resort or staying at The Sanctuary, and $54 per hour for those not renting through the resort. Whether you're a seasoned player or just looking to try something new, it's a great way to enjoy the beautiful Kiawah scenery.

Freshfields Village

Freshfields Village

165 Village Green Lane, Kiawah Island, SC 29455

Freshfields Village is a fantastic spot to explore on the island. For shopping, you’ll find plenty of boutiques offering resort wear, unique jewelry, and stylish menswear. If you need to grab groceries, The Village Market by Harris Teeter has you covered. You can also check Vincent's Drug Store for any pharmacy needs. There are also plenty of dining options. My personal favorite is Cafe Eugenia for breakfast and lunch. For any sporting goods or beach gear, check out SeaCoast Sports and Outfitters.

Historic Charleston Carriage Tours

Historic Charleston Carriage Tours

If you are interested in spending some time in Charleston, a historical carriage tour is a quintessential experience. Carriage tours are a charming and insightful way to explore the city's rich past. You'll ride in a horse drawn carriage while listening to fascinating stories and historical facts about the city's landmarks, architecture, and notable events. If you're intrigued by a more eerie side of Charleston's history, consider the Charleston ghost tours. These twilight tours are led by guides who weave tales of ghosts, pirates, and historical figures that still linger in the shadows. You'll visit famous landmarks and hidden corners of the city, hearing spine-chilling stories that have been passed down through generations.
