We’re getting married!

Some love stories begin with fireworks—Kate and Tyler’s started in middle school hallways, with the kind of innocent glances only teenagers could understand. Though they first crossed paths all those years ago, it wasn’t until high school in 2015 that their spark really lit. Kate may have made the first move (and definitely did the most flirting) in the classrooms they shared. That summer, Kate gave Tyler her Snapchat so they could stay in touch. When sophomore year kicked off, they ran into each other at a football game, and right outside the stadium lights, Tyler asked Kate to be his girlfriend. That night marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter. Kate and Tyler grew up together, through high school and into college. But like many young love stories, theirs took a pause. They went their separate ways, dated other people, and grew into themselves. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary—they needed time to grow individually before they could grow together. God, however, had other plans. A few years later, Kate and Tyler both found themselves newly single within the same month. Their paths crossed again, this time with the maturity and understanding that only time can give. As they reconnected, their bond felt familiar—but stronger. At one point, Kate, unsure of where things were going, tried to let go. But that very same night, she asked Tyler to grab Mexican food and margaritas “just as friends” with a group of friends. All evening, Tyler made nonstop jokes about being “just friends,” which eventually led to him saying, “I love you” again—and this time, they both knew it for sure. That was the moment they realized: this is forever. After two and a half more years of loving each other with intention—and half a year of building a home together—Tyler got down on one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever.
