This is a fun, silly, small informal gathering; mostly a Halloween party with a wedding thrown in, with our close family and friends, at the zoo, with cake. The vibe we're going for is cute and spooky - not super scary or gothic. Think Halloween party for children. This is a nontraditional wedding and an informal occasion. Please laugh at our jokes during the ceremony.
Halloween costumes are STRONGLY encouraged! They can be fancy, goofy, spooky, silly, elaborate, simple - whatever you choose! There are no color restrictions (it's okay to wear white/beige/etc). Ideally there will be time to explore the zoo after the reception, so wear something you can comfortably walk outdoors in, and comfortable shoes.
NO! Tickets will be provided to you! There will be a small booth by the main ticket office solely for guests of the wedding to pick up their tickets. Tickets will be available for you to pick up as early as 10:30 am and will give you full access to the zoo!
Tickets will be available for pickup beginning at 10:30 am if you'd like to come early and hang around the zoo. There will be a designated booth next to the ticket office for you to pick up your ticket. You can start entering the Ndoki Lodge at 11:30 am, and the ceremony will begin at 12 - so please make sure you're in the Ndoki Lodge between 11:30-12!
There will be pulled pork tostadas as an appetizer after the ceremony, and a buffet lunch will begin at 12:30. The options will be beef barbacoa; al pastor (pork); and sauteed tofu to build your own Chipotle-style bowl with different fixins. There will also be salad. If you have dietary needs or food allergies, please indicate this when you RSVP. All food will be gluten-free. This is an alcohol-free event but there are places on the zoo property where drinks can be purchased if you wish to do so. If you are bringing children and they have selective palates, please let us know what type of meals they would prefer to eat if what's on the menu isn't a good option for them.
No! We absolutely do not need "stuff". No more "stuff" is allowed in our house! If you feel the need to give, head on over to our registry page and consider contributing to our house renovations fund. We bought our house in Columbia, SC in 2023 and so far have replaced the roof, the windows, the entire septic system and HVAC/duct system. We haven't even touched our house cosmetically and oop, we need new plumbing!
Unfortunately we only have one guest room in our house and can't accommodate everyone to stay with us. There are TONS of hotels and Airbnbs in the area if you're looking to stay overnight or for the weekend.
Please RSVP by October 1st, 2024!
