Shayla first met Renna as she was taking her first breath. Shayla thought she was perfect in every way, except that she cried a little bit like a sheep. In a lot of ways, they've grown up together and there is no other person that Shayla would want to stand by her side as the Maid of Honor as she marries the love of her life.

Amber and Kate met in the fall of 2007 while both attending CU Boulder and playing lacrosse together. Since then, there have been many shenanigans and memories made.

Lou and Kate met while working together at Pipers Corner Boarding School in England. Lou and Kate became fast friends and have remained close even through distance and time changes.

We all have those people that come into our life unexpectedly and just "get" us. McKenzie is one of those people for Shayla. They met 5 years ago and since that time they've become close. Shayla can always count on McKenzie to be her sounding board and to make her laugh with her funny and unique views on everyday life. As said by C.S. Lewis, "Friendship is born at the moment when one man says to another, "What! You too? I thought I was the only one."

Dylan AKA Dyl-Bear is Shayla's 'brutha from the same mutha' and also just a really cool dude. Although they don't live close to each other anymore, Shayla has been so proud to see the man her little bro has become. Dylan may be too old now to chase Shayla's friends with a gun barrel or to be pulled around in a laundry basket, but asking him to stand beside her as she marries the woman of her dreams was a no-brainer.

Mindy is Kate's cousin but has become a dear friend to the couple over the years. Without hesitation Mindy welcomed Shayla, Renna, and Jonas into her family. Her love and support for Kate and Shayla as a couple has been unmatched. We couldn't imagine anyone else we'd rather have officiating our wedding ceremony!
