After a mutual swipe right, we met while we were in school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Scott was in his third year of pharmacy school and Kate was in her first year of grad school for Atmospheric Science. We first met at the classy undergraduate bar called Chasers and later met for a study date at Union South to really get to know each other. The rest has been history!
During the spring, both of us were extremely busy and neither of us seemed to be home at the same time for more than a few hours at a time. Luckily, we were both able to stay home on the day the Bomb Cyclone of 2019 came rolling through Denver and shut everything down. We had a really quiet, normal day getting some work done, going to the gym, and watching tv. At the end of the day, Scott asked if Kate wanted to go on a walk to "experience" what a blizzard felt like. Being the weather nerd that she is, she did not think anything of it and immediately said let's do it! So we bundled up and walked to the top of the hill behind our apartment. At the top, the wind was so strong that it was pushing us across the ice and the sky was so white you could not see more than a few feet in front of you. Scott said he decided doing it up there would not have been the best option so as we were coming down the hill, he stopped in the middle of the knee deep snow and asked if she would marry him. She was completely surprised and of course said yes! We are so excited to share the next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Minneapolis!
