There is free street parking all around the wedding venue. That being said, we don't recommend you walking at night more than a few blocks to your car. Please consider taking an Uber or Lyft, so that we don't have to worry about you!
There is a whole page about this!
No. Please consider some of the hotel options listed on the travel page, which details which are close to the wedding. If you're looking online on your own, search for places in the CBD or Lower Garden District to be close to the venue.
Many of us have taken countless steps back and forth from the Lower Garden District to the CBD and back under the I-10 overpass. It's not really that much more dangerous than many other blocks in New Orleans. While we ultimately recommend getting a ride if you have to come from the other side of the I-10, it's not insane to walk to the wedding from the CBD. We definitely don't recommend that you walk that way late at night when the wedding is over.
No. Only a few hand-selected teens. This does not mean you.
Good! It's not safe. New Orleans is a beautiful, amazing place, but it's no secret that crime is a major problem. Seriously, the best thing you can do is not be an idiot. Don't walk alone (or really even in groups) at night, don't get so drunk that you don't have any wits about you, don't accept distractions or tricks from strangers, and don't get in a car that you didn't call. Don't wear Mardi Gras beads because it's not Mardi Gras. All that being said, please don't use this information to be a weird jerk to people or stigmatize the city.
Great question! Marylène Mey took the photographs and did the editing for the Save-the-Date. She also took the portrait photos for the invitations, and Kevin Comarda used them to create collage you received in the mail. You can meet them at the wedding and compliment them in person!
