How do I get to Blue Heron Barn?

Answer

Take Exit 85 off of I-94 and head south for about 1.5 miles Turn RIGHT onto E MN Avenue which turn slightly left and become South 34th Street and follow for about 1.3 miles) Turn RIGHT onto E O Avenue for 0.7 miles Turn LEFT onto S 32nd Street and arrive at Blue Heron Barn after 0.7 miles. Blue Heron Barn will be located on your RIGHT. Please follow the Parking Attendant's directions around to the back of the barn.

Will Fergie and Pepper be there??

Answer

Of course! The girls will be involved in the ceremony and will stick around for some pictures before they are taken home so Mom and Dad can cut loose. Make sure you give them some love before they make their exit!

What are we eating? I have an allergy or dietary restriction.

Answer

While our event has a set menu, we also want to make sure our guests leave full and happy! If you have an allergy or dietary restriction that we need to be aware of, please let either Mike or Kate know and we will do our best to accommodate.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held outdoors with the reception to follow in a beautifully restored barn. As unpredictable as the weather can be in spring, we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap just in case. Feel free to wear whatever you feel most confident and comfortable in so you can tear up the dance floor!

What if it rains? Is there a contingency plan in place?

Answer

If the weather decides to not cooperate, both the ceremony and reception will take place in the barn.

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are so looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures from our wedding! Our ceremony is the only time we insist on being unplugged and device free, so please turn off all electronic devices for this portion. We have an absolutely amazing photographer to capture every moment of our wedding day, and we promise to share those with you once we get them. Once the cocktail hour starts, you are welcome to take all the photos you'd like! If you're posting on social media, we'd love for you to use the hashtag #whenamanlovesawoman so we can enjoy your shares, too!

What is the best way to share any pictures I take with you?

Anything you share on social media can be linked to us with the hashtag #whenamanlovesawoman and you can also download the app "The Guest" and use the event code "BOLTON2020" to share pictures taken at the reception with us.

Will alcohol be served?

Answer

We met at a liquor store! But for real, there will be liquor served by friendly and professional bartenders from MC Bartending. If they ask for your ID, be flattered that they think you're so young! We will NOT be providing drinks to minors or doing shots. We want everyone to have a great time while being safe, so please be responsible and respectful. If you have a bit too much fun, you will be cut off. If you're ridiculous about it, Kate will walk you out herself so a designated driver can drive you home. Please don't make her do that.

What happens if I drink too much and can't drive home?

Answer

Good news- the owners of Blue Heron Barn want you (and everyone else on the road) to be safe and will allow you to leave your vehicle there overnight. Any vehicle left overnight must be picked up by 10am on Sunday or will be subject to being towed at the owner's expense. Please be responsible- we care too much about you and want to hear from you, not about you.
