It will be hot and dry. Most of the wedding events start later when the temperatures drop and should be more comfortable. Expect temperatures around 75°F (24°C) after 8 PM. Light fabrics are key.

To ensure a smooth arrival to Spain, please make sure you have the necessary travel documents. Your passport must be valid for three months beyond your period of intended stay. At customs you may be asked for your departing flight information, location of accommodations, and purpose of travel. Presently, you may enter Spain for up to 90 days for the purpose of tourism.

Question

What can I do in my free time?

Answer

For Barcelona: If you are coming from the United States, we recommend flying into Aeroport de Barcelona-El Prat (BCN). Consider spending some time in the city and exploring the beautiful and historic sites including Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Cathedral of Barcelona, Casa Batlló and more. Also consider booking regional experiences such as tapas tours, wine tastings, and paella cooking classes through Airbnb experiences and Viator. For Sitges: Located approximately 25 minutes west of Barcelona via taxi, Sitges is a historic beach town with beautiful views. Its the perfect time to jump in the water this time of year and to enjoy the sights walking along the beach trail. Consider visiting the Iglesia de San Bartolomé y Santa Tecla, overlooking the Balearic Sea, and exploring the countless local bakeries and restaurants. Note, some attractions and businesses may be closed this time of year, but with Sitges’ year-round resident population there is enough buzz to create a wonderful atmosphere. For Vilafranca del Penedès: Located approximately 25 minutes north of Sitges, Vilafranca del Penedès is a quaint town with lots of history. Consider visiting the Vinseum to gain insights on local wine and cava production, or touring the bell tower in the Basilica of Santa Maria. There are many wonderful restaurants and markets here, and a unique tradition of building human towers (Castellers de Vilafranca) referenced in murals and museums throughout the area.

Question

I have dietary requirements will there be a special menu?

Answer

No problem! Dietary requirements can be added in the comments section when RSVPing. We will look for the best culinary option to adapt to your needs.

Question

How do we get from the airport to our accommodation?

Answer

The fastest mode of transportation to Sitges from Barcelona airport is taxi, Uber, or Cabify (phone app). We have the most success with taxis when leaving the airport. As for public transportation, you can take the bus called “BUSGARRAF” from Terminal 1 which drops you at the “Parc Can Robert T” and from there it is a 6 minute walk downtown Sitges If you are looking to go to the Barcelona city center, again, you can take a taxi, Uber, or Cabify. As for public transportation, you can take the blue Aérobus. This bus will take you straight to Plaça Catalunya.

Question

How long should I stay in Sitges?

Answer

However long you'd like! To participate in all the wedding celebrations, we recommend being in Sitges August 11 to August 14. We will be in Sitges a few days before and after those dates and in Barcelona the week beforehand. Come hang with us!

For all the days along the way
