Questions? We have answers!
Question

How do I get there?

Answer

Find your way to highway 60 that traverses on the southern border of Algonquin Park. - Turn NORTH off highway 60 onto Arowhon road (15.6 km from the west gate and 41km from the east gate) - Drive 9km on Arowhon road into the back country of Algonquin park. - You will come to one fork in the road, keep LEFT following signs for Camp Arowhon (NOT right towards Arowhon Pines). If you think you are lost you are not, keep driving as the road only leads to the camp and the camp is at the end of the road. FYI Arowhon road is a single lane dirt road, would not recommend bringing sports cars.

Question

What do I need to bring? Packing List!

Answer

Bedding: Sleeping bags (preferably) and pillows. If you do not have sleeping bags, sheets and warm blankets (it can get chilly at night in September). All cabins are heated. Clothing: Weather can be variable in September so layers are a great option. Bring comfortable active clothes for the days activities (and swim suits, running/hiking shoes!). For the wedding, dress as casual or fancy as you'd like (no dress code). Snacks: Your fee for the weekend does cover all meals and food. However, if there are particular snacks you like, you are permitted to bring snacks and food as well.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Absolutely! Take this weekend to enjoy a getaway in the wilderness with your whole family! The more the merrier.

Question

What if I want to come to the wedding only but cannot stay the weekend at Camp Arowhon?

Answer

No problem - if you cannot stay at camp at all, just arrive for 4pm on Sept 11 for our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and party then head home after (see the accommodations tab for an alternative option). If you are not spending the weekend with us, please send us an email at matt.farquharson@gmail.com as your RVSP instead of RSVP-ing on the website (see RSVP section for details).

Question

What does the all inclusive price include?

Answer

Everything!!! For $250/adult, $125/5-13 years you get: (CAD$) - 2 nights accommodations in cabins - All your food (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch, Sunday Brunch) - Access to all camp activities from swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, tennis, soccer, high ropes, zip-lining and archery. Drinks will be provided by the bride and groom for the whole weekend

Question

How do I book/pay for the weekend at Camp Arowhon?

Answer

Easy peasy! If you are planning to spend the whole weekend with us, just RSVP on this website via the RSVP tab. Funds for you and your party attending for the weekend can be sent to katehenning@live.com. Matt and Kate will then forward the funds to the camp. Cabins will be assigned by Matt and Kate (thank you for understanding!)

Question

Do I have to share a cabin?

Answer

No! Every couple and family will have their own space to themselves and access to a bathroom (toilette+sink). Showers are in a separate shower building with individual showers available (with the exception of a few cabins that have their own). That being said, if there is a group you would like to bunk with let us know as there are dormitory style cabins available for larger groups. Kate and Matt will be assigning the cabins according to party size.

Question

Are there other accommodations near by?

Answer

Camp Arowhon is fairly isolated in Algonquin Park. The closest hotel is in Huntsville which is about 1 hour away. There are also Air BnBs available so check out their website too if camp living is not quite your style!

Question

Is there cellphone service or internet?

Answer

Cell service is quite limited with some service available around the main lodge. There is no wifi available. Take this opportunity to disconnect a bit and enjoy the wilderness!

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Although there are dogs that live at Camp Arowhon, unfortunately we cannot bring additional dogs to the camp. That being said there is a local doggie spa that comes highly recommended and offers reasonable prices that is not far from the venue. Here is the website for info if your pup is in need of a little spa weekend: https://www.happytailsmuskoka.com
