We met on a Match.com. No joke! It actually works. Our witty banter back and forth through messages lead to a first date at Quanto Basta in Winston-Salem. We were both nervous and excited to get out and meet someone new, but we have all heard of those horror stories of internet dating. Fortunately, Kate showed up to find a handsome man sitting at the bar wearing a red and blue plaid shirt, casually sipping an Old Fashioned (Marc corrects that description as ~nervously sipping~). We found out that we have much more in common than our love of Italian food...we were both the middle of three kids in our families, we both went to Smith Mountain Lake growing up on vacations, and we both knew Russell Wilson (the Seahawks QB). Well, we went on a second date, and then a third, and so on and so on. We fell in love and we decided it was time for Marc to get to know Charlotte. They were buddies from the start, and Charlotte soon started calling Marc "Mama-Marc." And let's not forget Josie...she was the happiest dog in the world when she found another sucker to scratch her and pet her whenever she wanted. We all moved in together in a house in Greensboro. And if sharing one bathroom between two adults and a toddler learning to potty train doesn't bring people close to each other, we don't know what does! Although some might think we did it backwards...raising a kid together, moving in, and then getting married...we did it the only way we know and the only way that would have brought us as close as we are now. We are thankful and endlessly grateful to all of those who made it possible for us to get to where we are and to grow and love each other as a family. We are exited to get married and have Charlotte officially become Marc's daughter. We can't wait to celebrate our story with you!
