During the Mass, two special symbols will be placed over us. A white veil will be draped across our shoulders, representing the protection of God and the union of our lives. Then a cord, shaped like a figure-eight, will be placed around us as a sign of everlasting love and unity. Together, these traditions remind us that marriage is a sacred bond, woven with faith and fidelity.
At the reception, we’ll share in a joyful Filipino custom known as the money dance. Guests are invited to pin bills onto our attire or place them in a sash while dancing with us. Beyond being a festive moment, the money dance is a way of wishing the newlyweds prosperity, happiness, and support as they begin married life.
