Altitude

We are beyond excited for you to join us in colorful Colorado! For those guests traveling from sea level, you’ll be climbing from Mile High Denver at 5,280ft (1,069m) to Steamboat at 6,900ft (2,103m) to Mt. Werner at 10,568ft (3,224m). Here are a few pointers to help you acclimate to the higher elevation so you can enjoy every second of our wedding weekend!
Question

Should I drink more water at a higher altitude?

Answer

Yes! Drink water…and lots of it! Start hydrating a few days before you arrive and continue drinking throughout your stay.

Question

Does alcohol affect me differently at a higher altitude?

Answer

At altitude, your body will process alcohol faster than you’re used to - we like to use the saying one drink equals three. Don’t be surprised if you feel the “buzz” a little sooner than expected.

Question

What's the best way to acclimate to the altitude?

Answer

If you’re planning to spend some time in Colorado, consider acclimating gradually by starting your trip in Denver for a day! This will allow your body to adjust to 5,280ft before heading into the mountains.

For all the days along the way
