Our Story
Kate and Juan met during their freshman year at Middlebury. They started out friends, but a Thanksgiving bus ride home (during which the bus broke down in the Vermont mountains on its way to Boston) revealed that they could be something more. It took a few more months, but on March 13th, 2016 they made it official--and the rest is history!
Kate loves Juan most for his kindness, generosity, and his humor.
Juan loves Kate most for her humility, intellect, and her unconditional support.

Our first photo together, the night we decided to "officially" date.
Kate's first trip out to Minnesota. She immediately felt so welcomed by Juan's family and loved getting to understand how Juan came to be the amazing person that he is.
Traveling together during their year abroad. This year of long distance was one of the toughest times in their relationship, but they learned what it meant to communicate and grow with each other.
After they graduated, Juan and Kate lived apart at each other's homes while figuring out the next steps in their careers. They met up once a month in different places throughout the country.
Kate and Juan entered a new chapter in their relationship by becoming dog parents to Albert in early 2020.
After almost six months apart during the pandemic, Kate moved to Minnesota and Juan and Kate moved into their first apartment together.
In the fall of 2021, Kate and Juan moved to Beacon Hill, Boston so Kate could go back to school. Juan followed suit to work on his MBA while at Boston company Hubspot (Boston apartment pictured).
On March 11, 2022 Juan proposed to Kate by creating an exhibit of their relationship at the Hingham Historical Society. Kate said YES and they celebrated that night with family and friends.
