COVID-19 Considerations

The Wedding Website of Kate Kielty and Josh Fleitman
Last year, we postponed our wedding for the safety of our guests. This year, we are now both vaccinated and encourage all our guests who are eligible to do the same! While we would love to see everyone on our special day, we understand that some are still uncertain about traveling and attending a wedding. We want to be open with you about what you can expect, and we respect and understand whatever decision you make. As long as the weather cooperates, our ceremony will take place outdoors. Masking will be at the discretion of each guest. We are expecting just under 100 guests. The dinner and reception will take place inside of a large, air-conditioned barn. Please know that people will be eating and drinking near others without masks and we will not be able to distance parties. This will be the same case for our welcome barbeque and farewell brunch at The Jacqueline House.

Updated July 27, 2021

The CDC this week released new recommendations for fully vaccinated individuals regarding wearing masks indoors in public when in counties which are considered to be experiencing ‘substantial’ or ‘high transmission.’ The CDC designates substantial transmission as >50 cases per 100,000 OR >8% positive PCR tests in the last 7 days. It is important to note that the county which our venue and hotels are located is considered to be in the ‘substantial’ category (Lawrence County, 38 cases per 100,000, 8.3 % positivity). For this reason, we would suggest all guests wear masks when in public (such as to a grocery store) in the area around the venue. This is a rural county where vaccination rates are lower than Pennsylvania on average. The only people in attendance at our wedding from this county will be the caterers, and they are committed to wearing masks. Pittsburgh is currently in the ‘moderate’ category (Allegheny County, 26 cases per 100,000, 2.9% positivity).

CDC Recommendations Here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html Masking at the wedding and other wedding weekend events is still at the discretion of each guest, and we support whichever decision our guests choose. We do believe that the vast majority of our guests will be vaccinated, though not all as there will be some children less than 12 years old. As always, please feel free to reach out with any concerns or questions you may have!
