Kate and Jeff took part in a volunteer training for Trident United Way. It was a half-day "poverty simulation" and they were matched as a family. They had to survive a "month" successfully; navigating challenges, raising a child and paying bills on time. Good news: they kept the kid alive! After the training, Jeff reached out to Kate asking to grab a beer (after spying her email on the group followup message, bold move!) and they texted back and forth for a bit, but never met up. One year later, Kate texted Jeff completely out of the blue (not really, she had long been thinking about that missed date); he asked her out and on January 14, 2017 they went on their first date. They've been happily together since that night!
Jeff proposed to Kate in their very favorite place: the Florida Keys. After a waterside dinner date, Jeff handed Kate a small box with a beautiful ring and simply said, "Will you marry me?" And of course, Kate (after a speechless moment or two) said "yes, yes, yes!" A million times yes.
As you know, our collective health and safety are a top priority for us. We look forward to welcoming you to our wedding and ask that if you are eligible, please arrive fully vaccinated or be willing to mask up when not eating and drinking. We want to party like it's 2022, woohoo!
