After a few months of crossing paths, we sat next to each other at a dinner with friends where we spoke to nobody else the entire night. Our first "official" date came a few weeks later on October 8th, 2019 and we both quickly realized there was something special between us. The first dinner date was close to 3 hours. After dinner we were planning to walk the stone arch bridge but, true to form, I was too cold.

After a year of dating and many talks about what a marriage and life together might look like, we set off in September 2020 for a road trip up the Pacific coast of CA and OR. Our last stop was in Cannon Beach, OR where we went down to the beach to take a walk before dinner. We walked the beach and were just about back when Houston got down on one knee, said some beautiful words that neither of us remember, and asked me to be his wife. And I, of course, said yes.
