Meet the Groom: Grant Chappell Grant is from Monroe, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 and is currently a first year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. When he is not studying, Grant enjoys reading, playing basketball, and playing board games with Kate. A fun fact about Grant is that his first job in high school was working at a local Zoo (shout-out Indian Creek Zoo). Meet the Bride: Kate Roth Kate is from Grand Blanc, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019. She is currently working as a research coordinator at the University of Cincinnati Health System. She will begin medical school in late July also at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Kate spends her free time baking and training for her first half-marathon (Cincinnati's Flying Pig). A fun fact about Kate is that she has been to all 50 states.

Was it the luck of the Irish or fate? Either way St. Patrick's Day of 2017 was one we will never forget. We met at a house party on our college campus. Our roommates, Dan and Hannah, were dating and introduced us to each other (see image below for all of us that night). We quickly connected over shared interests and danced the night away. Grant ended the night by impressing Kate with his wonderful cartwheel skills and snowman-tackling form. We saw each other the next day at a St. Patty's day Frat party (gross), and made plans for our first date that Sunday. Neither of us were looking for our forever person that weekend, but our connection was instant and undeniable. While our journeys have changed course over the past five years, our presence in each others lives has remained constant. We take on life's challenges as a team and are almost as good as the 2016, championship winning, Cleveland Cavaliers.
