A once-local (now owned by AnB) brewery with a great downtown location, Wicked Weed originally made its mark by offering interesting sours. This location continues to have a solid selection of sours but if you're particularly interested in sours, we'd definitely recommend checking out Wicked Weed's sour spin-off, the Funkatorium.
A local favorite, the Wedge is THE spot when the weather is nice - in part because the Wedge is 90% outdoors. While it's a great choice on a good day, if the weather isn't good, we'd recommend trying out a different brewery.
This Wicked-Weed spin-off focuses on sours and features a truly mouth-puckering array of tart but tasty brews.
A great local brewery with tasty bites and solid outdoor space!
Highland Brewing was one of the first local Asheville spots to start distributing more widely. It remains a strong local brewery and has a huge space a little off the beaten path.
Opened in 2016, New Belgium's Asheville location is massive and features tours, food trucks, and regular events. While not an Asheville original, New Belgium is still a fun stop.
A downtown hotspot with massive plates (seriously, two people can share one dish), Salsa's is a small spot with delicious food and great margaritas!
While every taco at this place is delicious, the shrimp is a personal favorite!
Brunch at this popular breakfast spot often requires a fair amount of waiting but the angel biscuits, maple black pepper bacon, and chipotle cheddar grits are worth it!
Homegrown is another tasty brunch spot with simple, Southern food for a good price. There can be a line but it usually moves fast. *There are multiple locations.
This (relatively) late night sweet spot has a wide array of decadent treats with personal favorites being the liquid truffles and the chocolate creme brulee.
One of Asheville's most popular tourist destinations, the Biltmore House is a prime example of a Gilded Age mansion (yup, we took that straight from Wikipedia). The grounds also include a garden and vineyard.
