Dom and Kate’s first date was filled with tons of laughter, a first kiss, and even… a little blood. The story begins at Bex Cafe and Juice Bar. Kate knew almost immediately that she was going to like this guy when Dom told the barista that almond milk is indeed not milk... it's "nut juice". Kate and Dom got their smoothies and started their walk downtown. Within minutes, Dom needed a break on a nearby bench. You see, Dom sprained his ankle less than twelve hours before their first date while dangerously multitasking… walking his dog Mako AND texting Kate. Nevertheless, they walked - and limped - all over downtown Greenville while Kate teased Dom ruthlessly for falling the night before. They made it to a bench near the beautiful waterfall in Falls Park where they shared their first kiss. It was perfect. The date was going so well that Kate decided it was time for the ultimate test - introducing Dom to her dog Kumba. A short trip to Kate's place later, Dom was officially Kumba Approved! Dom then suggested they have both of their dogs meet each other. They decided it would be best if the pups meet on neutral turf. Dom went home to grab Mako and was waiting in the field behind Kate’s place. Kate raced inside, scooped up Kumba, threw on some flip flops and confidentially skipped towards Dom and Mako. This is when karma won (and where the blood comes in). Kate’s flip flops betrayed her and she dramatically fell on the concrete right before the field. Kate laughed and looked at her bloody skinned knees, and watched as the dogs met and trotted over to check on her. Another perfect meeting. Now that hours of excitement had passed, Kate and Dom were starving. Obviously the nut juice smoothies weren't quite filling enough. Kate looked in her fridge and she just so happened to have two steaks freshly thawed. Dom grilled them up and taught Kate how he gets the fancy “X” on the steak that she's grown so much to love. After Dom's departure home, Kate knew that she'd met her match and couldn't help but eagerly text her friends that she'd met her future husband.
