The evening began with David taking me out for hot chocolate in Appleton, WI (his home town) and walking around downtown in the falling snow (just like the snow we walked in over railroad tracks, the first time we realized we wanted our friendship to go somewhere more). We saw a parking garage and immediately climbed to the top (our first date was at the top of a parking garage with hot chocolate) and we had the most epic snowball fight at the top (David technically won, but I had many more accurate throws). Then David took me to a park along the river and surprised me with our film camera pictures and string lights decorating a gazebo. Here, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I screamed YES to the man of my dreams, the man I had prayed for and with, and then tackled him while he was still on his knee before dancing together to the song, Sweatshirt (the first song we ever danced to together). We then strolled down memory lane looking at our film pictures, prayed together, and warmed-up back in the car (Titan). When we arrived back at his home, we were greeted with hugs and warm wishes as well as a toast of champagne. And, that is where our next chapter began.
