The first time Kate and Meg met Meg cried. But, she was a newborn so we’ll give her a pass! As her little sister, Meg has always been Kate’s built-in best friend. It’s hard to sum up the precious moments of growing up together – the endless laughter, imagination, and dreamy summer afternoons shared forged an unbreakable bond between these sisters. Kate has always admired Meg’s heart and gift for empathy. Meg loves deeply, genuinely, and without reservation.

Clint met Lucas "Moonboots" Evett in college through Clint's friend and Lucas' now wife, Chelsea. After going on a Catholic conference, Clint knew that God was calling him to start a Catholic men's group and Lucas was right there with him. When Clint thinks of good, holy fathers that he looks up to Lucas is always the first to come to mind. His deep love is shown in how he cares for and challenges you even when it's difficult and you don't want to hear it. He is the type of friend that we ALL want to have around...unless you're going on a silent retreat!
Deviney Benson

The new PA on the block with an impressive collection of pint glasses! Deviney and Kate met freshman year of college and have been best friends ever since. Deviney is a fiercely loyal friend and has an incredible drive. When she isn’t saving the world in her white coat, you can catch her bouldering in CO, winning chili cook-offs, crafting impeccable charcuterie boards, and hunting down the perfect cup of coffee. From joining the rugby team at Simpson College to sipping tea in fancy hats, there is never a dull moment with this lady!
David Harley

This new dad is obsessed with three things; God, his family, and sports. He's been Clint's boss, roommate, travel companion, and closest friend since Clint moved to Houston so it's no surprise that he will be by our side on the big day. Be sure to quiz him on all things football if you see him (seriously anything....even from decades ago) and I'm sure he will be happy to tell you about his role in getting Clint & Kate together.

The best way to sum up Kate and Ella’s friendship is “make it two.” Through thick and thin, the pair were partners in crime during their college years. Whether it was celebrating Mardi Gras every week, trying escargot in France, penning an excellent birthday rap for Deviney, or going to a fancy Italian restaurant just for an excuse to dress up – Kate and Ella were always in sync. Now, Ella is a high school choir director and an amazing wife and mother. She is strong, generous, and goofy.

There should be a book of all of the tales and adventures of Casito and Clintisimo. The bond between these two started in college with a shared interest in deep faith conversations and shameless goofiness. Whether it's going on a weekend road trip looking for the weirdest tourist attractions in Iowa or just sitting back and talking about the important things of life, Casey is the type of friend who will always be there with the wisdom and understanding of someone twice his age.

“Sisters” from the very beginning, Kate and Hannah bonded during the long hours spent at rehearsals for an opera about nuns! Hannah continues to grace the stage and recital halls around the world in pursuit of her career as a professional opera singer. In addition to being ridiculously talented, she is also an absolute ray of sunshine. Hannah is bubbly, creative, and pure-hearted. One of Kate’s favorite memories with Hannah was a nighttime bike ride through downtown Des Moines. It was a perfect little adventure for two free-spirited friends!
Gordon Moore

Brewer of beers, Hipster missionary, and brilliant Game Master; Gordon's got it all. Clint met Gordon through a local young adult group, but the two really hit it off after podcasting together. It's kinda crazy what happens when you have two people talk about what they are passionate about every single week for three years! You will definitely see Gordon at the reception being the life of the party but please...we beg you...don't dare him to do anything crazy because he will absolutely do it without hesitation.
Audrey Ellis

A fan of Duke Basketball, Jesus, and Taylor Swift (though not in that order), Audrey is an engineer turned theologian who will most likely be taking her knowledge of theology back into the engineering world. Kate and Audrey quickly became good friends when they both began working at St. Bernadette in the wild summer of 2020. Audrey is bright, compassionate, and has a heart for service. She is also a meme queen and is lowkey Twitter famous keeping her friends and the larger Catholic world entertained with her quick wit!
Ieric Lopez

Clint and Ieric met a few years ago and connected over their mutual love of all things geeky and their uncanny ability to have entire conversations using only movie quotes. After being Clint's roommate for the past couple of years, Ieric has been there throughout the couple's entire relationship and has become one of their closest friends. He is an expert dungeon master and one of the most laid back and understanding people you will ever have the privilege to meet.
Ashley Treadwell

The loudest and proudest member of the wedding party (WHOOPs! I mean the Texas A&M Class of 2016) and one of Kate’s oldest friends! It all started in middle school drama club and then after many, many Starbucks dates, jam sessions, beach days, froyo runs, and bowls of queso their friendship is still going strong. Ashley is a math teacher, volleyball coach, fancy cookie master, and new mommy! She is also one of the most selfless and loving people you’ll ever meet. If you see her at the reception, give her a “Howdy!”
Kenzie Elsbernd

Sir Kenzington of the clan Elsbernd, First of his name, lived with Clint in college and the two hit it off. With Kenzie being a talkative morning person, and Clint constantly challenging Kenzie to wrestling matches (both physical and logical) the two of them pushed each other to learn and grow every day. Kenzie is one of most sincere guys you will ever meet, and he loves to serve everyone he meets. If you see him at the reception ask him how he is doing and this eternal optimist will give you an answer that is, "just peachy!"
