Suggested Travel Routes
There are direct flights to Tortola from Miami, Puerto Rico, Antigua, and St Thomas. There are also regular ferries between St Thomas and Tortola. We usually fly from New York (JFK or EWR) to Puerto Rico (SJU) or St Thomas (STT). Flights are operated by American Airlines, Delta, United, JetBlue, Avelo, Spirit, and Frontier. The following airlines fly from Puerto Rico to Tortola: Cape Air, Caribbean Airlines, Tradewind Aviation, and InterCaribbean Airways. A number of these airlines do not show up on Google Flights so we recommend you look at their websites to find the best prices and routes. Please note that InterCaribbean can be unreliable and is prone to cancellations and delays. In our experience they have often canceled the morning or afternoon flights from Puerto Rico and moved us on to the last flight. When flying into St Thomas, we take a ferry from either Charlotte Amalie (about a 10 minute drive from the airport) or Red Hook (about a 40 minute drive from the airport). Ferries run from both of these ports to West End, Tortola and Road Town, Tortola. The West End ferry port is about a 5 minute drive from Fort Recovery and Road Town ferry port is about a 15 minute drive. There are also water taxi companies that will arrange for your pickup from St Thomas Airport and drop off to wherever you would like in Tortola. Please reach out to us if you are interested in using a water taxi as we can try and arrange for guests landing around the same time to share a water taxi.

Fort Recovery is located on the western side of Tortola, driving times from the arrival ports are listed below: 10-minute drive from West End ferry dock 20-minute drive from Road Town ferry dock 45-minute drive from Tortola airport There are no ride hailing apps in Tortola, although there are number of taxi drivers on island.
