Things To Do

Chicago is a magical place that we've fallen in love with and hope you do too! Here are some recommendations on what to see/eat/drink while you visit the city.
Cloud Gate AKA The Bean

Cloud Gate AKA The Bean

Chicago, IL

If you haven't seen The Bean in Chicago, what are you doing? This landmark, with Millennium Park, is very close to the lake. It may be a little chilly in November, but it's definitely a picture opportunity if you have never visited!

Museums Galore!

Museums Galore!

Chicago, IL

Chicago has world-class museums in every corner of the city. Check out The Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, and Ava's personal favorite: The International Museum of Surgical Science. There is literally a museum for every interest!

Shedd Aquarium

Shedd Aquarium

1200 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605

With stunning views of the skyline and the lake, the Shedd Aquarium is one of Kate's favorite attractions. There are shows, special exhibits, and you can pet a sturgeon!

Osteria Langhe

Osteria Langhe

2824 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

This is our favorite Logan Square spot with amazing Northern Italian food and an awesome wine and aperitif selection. Reservations are recommended, but they do have a few bar seats available. The restaurant we had our first date at has since closed, so we now come here to celebrate! (RIP Owen & Engine)

Lucy's Fried Chicken & Smashburgers

Lucy's Fried Chicken & Smashburgers

1043 North California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

One of Kate's favorite places to get a delicious fried chicken sandwich. Lucy's is located in our neighborhood, Humboldt Park!

Chinatown for Hotpot

Chinatown for Hotpot

2201 S Wentworth Ave, 1st floor, Chicago, IL 60616

We love going to Chinatown with our friends to eat and drink, specifically hotpot. Ava's favorite hotpot is Shoo Loong Kan, but there are other places like Happy Lamb and Shabu Plus Rotary Hotpot. (Shoo Loong Kan is linked below)

GO Tavern & Liquors

GO Tavern & Liquors

3219 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

The place that started it all! Ava has worked at GO Tavern (Dorothy's for the real ones) since 2012 and Kate's been dropping in since 2018. This bar is also a liquor store, so feel free to pick up something when you're there. Be sure to look up while inside, though it might be hard after a few Malorts.

Best Intentions

Best Intentions

3281 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

One word: daiquiris. This bar was just voted #25 in North America's 50 Best Bars and has solid cocktails along with a great burger!

The Hi-Lo

The Hi-Lo

1110 North California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

A gorgeous bar with a covered outdoor area, they specialize in low alcohol or high alcohol content drinks with a great NA cocktail selection.
