After both spending some time living away from Boston, our dear friends decided to set us up. We all went to Taco Night followed by Southie Bowl, Arin was so ashamed of my candle pin bowling skills he felt badly for me and asked me out, and the rest is history :-)
After celebrating the epic wedding of my nursing school friend, Steph, in Cancun, I was flying back to Boston with Stacey complaining to her about the pain that is on-line dating. Stacey, as those of you that know her, happens to have an impressive history as a matchmaker. She said "let me think about this". Later on our flight, she showed me a picture of her friend Arin, whom she described as an awesome guy that just moved back to Boston. I tried to remain calm and said "why yes I think I'd like to meet him". She mentioned they were going to Loco Taqueria that coming Tuesday with some of the Dartmouth posse (Corbett and Abby) and that I should join. Luckily I was free! Later that night, after arriving in Boston, I happened to be on the dating app Bumble when Arin's picture popped up - I panicked, swiped Right, and we matched! Immediate excitement! Then Oh No! I'm supposed to meet him casually in two days. Again...tried to remain calm as I consulted Stacey and Abby on what to do. We decided to keep it to ourselves and see how it played out. Tuesday came, they introduced me to Arin, and he had ZERO idea we had been talking on Bumble for the last two days. Half way through dinner he leaned over to Corbett, showed him my picture, and asked "is this that girl?" Corbett called us out, I'm pretty sure I turned as red as a tomato, but by the end of the night we had made plans to grab dinner the following week. Dinners turned into days walking around the city, nights out with friends in Southie, weekends in Dartmouth, and road trips to the Lake until the ultimate Lake Champlain weekend this past summer when Arin caught me completely off guard, down on one knee, asking to spend the rest of our lives together, all with the most gorgeous rainbow shining over us. And so our journey begins :-)
